	David Wood- Pastor/Head of Staff  Phone: (319) 233-6145 Email: dave@1stpresby.org David is a 1985 graduate of San Francisco Theological Seminary and Drew University where he received a Ph.D in social ethics. He is a graduate of the Onondaga Pastoral Counseling Center’s two-year program in pastoral counseling. For over a decade, he pastored inner-city congregations in and around Newark, NJ before coming to central NY to become the minister at First Church in downtown Syracuse. While in Syracuse, he served on the boards of the InterReligious Council, the largest interfaith group in central New York, and the the Community-Wide Dialogue to End Racism. He has been the pastor of First Pres in Waterloo, Iowa since April, 2006. He has taught social ethics at Hawkeye Community College and currently serves on the board of the Eastside Ministerial Alliance. David loves to read, play sports, and flyfish.
	Jan Schwab- Minister of Christian Nurture Phone: (319) 233-6145 Email: jan@1stpresby.org Jan was born and raised in Waterloo and FPC is her home church.  She attended the University of Iowa and University of Northern Iowa.  She owned her own flower shop and was a florist for 25 years.  After closing the shop she was employed at FPC, Cedar Falls for 15 years as a Christian Education Specialist and Director of Youth Ministries.  Jan is an ordained Elder and served on several Presbytery Committees and was a past Moderator of the Presbytery of North Central Iowa.  She has been the Minister of Christian Nurture and Visitation since June, 2001.
	Thomas Reed - Director of Music Ministries  Phone: (319)233-6145 Email: thomas@1stpresby.org Thomas received his Bachelors Degree from Hope College in Holland, Michigan and attended the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri in Kansas City for his Masters and Doctorate.  He has played piano and organ in church and accompanied singers and choirs for most of his life in just about every denominational tradition possible.  He has been the Music Director since August, 2007.

	Katie Deranleau - Youth Fellowship Coordinator Phone: (319) 233-6145 Email: katie.deranleau@gmail.com Katie was born in Lancaster, WI, grew up in Creston, IA and graduated from CHS in 2004.  She recieved her AA from Des Moines Area Community College in 2006 and then transfered to UNI.  She is majoring in Elementary and Early Childhood Education with a minor in Teaching Students who are Blind and Visually Impaired.  She likes to read, bike, hike, work with kids, and spend time outdoors.  Katie has been the Youth Fellowship Coordinator at FPC since October of 2007.
	Jackie Bass- Administrative Assistant Phone: (319)233-6145 Email: jackie@1stpresby.org Jackie is a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church and resident of the Waterloo area.  After graduating from East High School, she attended Gates Business College and graduated from the Executive Secretary program.  She worked for seven years for the State of Iowa, in the Department of Human Services District Office before becoming a full-time mom.  In 1993 Jackie joined the staff of First Presbyterian Church as a part-time Christian Nurture Associate and in 1996 became the full-time Church Secretary and now Administrative Assistant.  Jackie has been a member of the Celebration Ringers Handbell Choir for over 20 years.  She enjoys reading, quilting and making crafts during her free time.
	Sheila Neill - Financial Secretary Phone: (319)233-6145 Email: sheila@1stpresby.org Sheila lives in Cedar Falls and attends the Heartland Vineyard Church.  Her family lives in Omaha, NE so her Bible study small group is her family here in Iowa.  She has worked in the accounting/clerical field for over 25 years.  Sheila has been the Financial Secretary for FPC since June, 2006.  She loves scrapbooking and being creative.

 

Justin O'Brien - Custodian Phone: (319)233-6145 Justin graduated from North Fayette High School in West Union in 2000.  He moved to Cedar Falls and attended UNI.  He has been the Custodian at First Pres. Waterloo since August, 2007.
